Publications from peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings were analyzed. From these articles categorizations were accorded into three emerging themes on the politics of social robotics which are, influence, acceptance and adoption. The findings indicated that the social skilling of brain-impaired children are implicated but not present in the development and design process of the robots. Instead, the human social skills were assigned to the capability and general features of the robots. The need for social robots is in tandem with societal changes and the increased demographics as well as demands from the healthcare industry. The conceptualization of brain-impaired children is plagued with stereotypical views that they are both mentally and physically handicapped, helpless, require round-the-clock care and in need of robotic assistance when humans fail. Struggle in social interaction skill is known as one of the main drawback encountered by children with autism. Therefore, a mobile social application is proposed to help the children to develop social interaction skills. Nonetheless, this paper only deliberates on the design phase mobile application development. It is developed for children with medium functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are learning basic interaction skills. The application's design phase implements the results from the analysis phase, which has concluded earlier. Five evaluators were involved in the heuristic evaluation, in order to enhance the user interface of the mobile social application. The outcomes from the evaluation conclude that all evaluators has agreed with all heuristics. Not to mention, beneficial recommendations were also achieved from the evaluation. In order to evaluate the affective states of individuals with ASD, amongst the methods used are through electrodermal activity (EDA), electromyographic (EMG) activity, and cardiovascular activity (ECG) and blood flow analyses. Though considered non invasive, these methods require sensor to be patched on to the skin causing discomfort to the subjects and might distract their true emotion. We propose non-invasive methods which is also contactless to address the problem to detect emotion of individual with ASD that is through thermal imaging. Through the impact of cutaneous temperature in blood flow, thermal imprint is radiated and can be detected in this method. To date, no research has been reported of the use of thermal imaging analysis of facial skin temperature on the individuals with ASD. The use of humanoid robot NAO in the rehabilitation of autistic children is expected to help them to interact and practice their social traits just like normal children. The results evidently showed that children with autism are positively affected by NAO by giving encouraging responses in social interaction when interacting with the robot.
